The Tobacco Valley, located at the very northwest tip of Montana is an amazing place.  Every turn in the road, change in elevation, and direction of the compass provides inspiration.  The rich geological history and diversity in the area is evident in the colors and the textures of the landscape.  Artists of all kinds come to this area to soak in the immense beauty. Tobacco Road Studio in Eureka, Montana is home to Christina Barbachano and Alex Bolotsky, artists and educators.

Many years ago, Christina dreamt of a place where she could invite artists from all over the world to come, create, collaborate and discuss art.  This is that place.  Tobacco Road Studio is launching the Artists in Residence and Collaboration (ARC) in its inaugural format.  We invite artists of all kind to come and work for 10 days in this beautiful valley.  You can explore glaciers, glacier lakes, drumlins, valleys, forests, mountains, and rivers looking for inspiration and to renew that creative well that too often runs dry.  This is a family-friendly creative place, room for kids of all ages, time to make art and new friends, and collaborate and stretch artistically.

Artists will have to get themselves here and pay for any incidentals that they may have.  There is no cost for this time to create though.  You can work more independently and play with other artists collaboratively.  Most work will be created out of doors, but there are two indoor studios to work in as well.  We have a beautiful covered deck to work, eat and meet on.  If you camp in one of our tents, then your housing will be free.  We will coordinate and provide food. This is the main cost at $100 per person for the 8-10 full days that you would be fed at ARC.

We are actively applying for grants and donations to help cover the costs of ARC.  It is possible that food will also be free.  If we get more donations and grants than anticipated, TRC will divide the remaining revenue to artists as stipends to help defray the cost of travel and time. Please read for more information. If you are interested, please fill out the application and get it to TRS by February 25th.  We will need this information to apply appropriately for grants and donations.  We are so excited to support, create, and collaborate with other artists from around the country and globe! Please join us.
